Our commitment to an accessible website and accessible service, and how to ask for information in another format.

Our commitment

Silvara is committed to providing service and information that everyone can use, in line with The Accessibility for Manitobans Act, its Customer Service Standard and its Information and Communication Standard.

The website

We design and test the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This includes:

  • text and controls with colour contrast that meets WCAG AA;
  • full keyboard use, visible focus, and a skip link to the main content;
  • pages that work at small screen sizes and with text enlarged;
  • respect for your device's reduced-motion setting, which turns off non-essential animation;
  • a site that still works with JavaScript turned off;
  • a written description of our intro film, which has music but no spoken words.

Some illustrative animations are decorative. If anything on the site is hard to use, please tell us and we will help directly and fix it.

Information in accessible formats

Any information we provide, including appraisals, offer sheets and transaction documents, is available in an accessible format or with communication support on request, such as large print, a format compatible with a screen reader, or a phone call to go through it. We provide this as soon as practicable and at no extra cost.

How we serve you

  • We communicate in the way that works best for you: phone, text, WhatsApp or email.
  • Support persons are welcome in any meeting or call.
  • If a way we normally serve you is unavailable, we will let you know and offer an alternative.
